Strange Allure Volume 10: Grant

[HOUSE] Drawing comparisons to Moodyman, Galcher Lustwerk, and others, Grant is most definitely on the radar of deep house fans—who have scooped up each one of his releases religiously since the producer came onto the scene in 2014 with his record label, The Lauren Bacall. Since then, he’s been plenty busy producing records—releasing his sleeper hit deep house record, The Acrobat, in 2015 and the follow up, Crank, released on the Lobster Theremin sub-label, Mörk, in 2016. His latest is an EP, Grant 001 (good luck finding that one on wax, vinyl collectors) released earlier this year. In between those records, prior to, and since, he’s released a myriad of DJ mixes—for Rinse, Fact, and XLR8R among others—that have set the bar for deep house lovers. He’s been known to mix in cuts by DJ Sprinkles, Theo Parrish, and Floating Points, along with plenty of unreleased material—and of course, deep house often melds or collides with hip hop, jazz, and Grant especially has been known to mix in some liquid drum and bass—in case you’re wondering which flavors to expect when he comes to Buffalo for the next Strange Allure party, this Saturday, May 13. Grant will be joined by the Buffalo based, Detroit bred, deep house legend Drand Land. As usual, the party will take place at an undisclosed location. Location details will be released the day of the show via email for ticket holders and email subscribers. For tickets, ask around. Limited tickets available at door.
