[JAZZ] Since local jazz musician Ellen Pieroni has taken over much of the booking and promotion at Nietzsche’s, the venue has become even more of a haven for the local jazz music scene. One of the most ambitious projects Pieroni has taken on in the name of jazz is the Nietzsche’s Jazzfest, which has now officially become a yearly thing as the second annual event approaches. The five day-long festival, which begins this Wednesday, May 10 and runs through Sunday, May 14 features musical acts representing the entire spectrum of jazz. Some names you’ll recognize, some not so much, but we’ll go ahead and wager that those you’ve likely never encountered, like for instance, The “Lesionread” Jazz Fangazmo Band, might be the most interesting.
