[INDIE] It’s a birthday bash for Buffalo’s most popular indie music blog, celebrating six years of successfully hovering in cyberspace… no small feat, since the Buffablog site is basically a labor of love. Headliners Bethlehem Steel hit a bummer while showcasing at SXSW last week, finding themselves in need of a $4,000 transmission repair. One way or another, the trio (which sounds a bit like an under-produced 4AD band from the late 1980s, featuring breathy female vocals from front gal Becca Ryskalczyk) will hopefully find its way to Nietzsche’s by Saturday, March 26 for the show.. Also prominent on this bill is local duo Get Money Squad—a vehicle for the scrappy, delightfully tune-challenged, sun-fried meanderings of Quinton Brock. They’re joined by The Leones with their brand of shoegazey dream-pop, but be sure to arrive early for sets from psych-rockers Moody Cosmos, Cooler (emo/punk-pop), and some lo-fi jangle pop from local newcomer Telempathy. The party gets started at 9pm, and all this indie goodness can be yours for a super-reasonable $5.
