The Public Presents: Vine Brothers, the Observers, Brothers Blue

[FOLK] It’s the Christmas of beer drinking with St. Patrick’s Day this weekend, and you can get an early start with the next edition of The Public Presents this week. It would be timely if we had some Celtic string bands lined up for our show Thursday, March 16 at Nietzsche’s, but alas, we’ll have to settle for some good old Americana string bands. The Vine Brothers will once again visit Buffalo, in from Brooklyn, for a special set. The three piece band, Greg Bucking, Joe Credit III, Garrett Jones, play straight Americana with a taste of gypsy jazz and a dash of Nawlin’s soul. They’ll be joined by Buffalo Americana supergroup The Observers. The six-piece band comes complete with guitar, banjo, mandolin, upright bass, and acoustic percussion. It’s well worth your while to check out The  Observer’s rustic self-titled record before this show to get a taste of their mostly jubilant style. Rounding out the line up are the three piece string band The Brothers Blue—fiddle playter Charlie Blue, banjo and guitar player Benny Blue, and guitarist/bassist Matthew Blue. Born in Honeoye, New York—amid the mountains, next to a lake—the band has a varied list of influences from The Wizard of Oz and Pink Floyd. They’re a folk band through and through, however, and will add to the fun, beer swilling, atmosphere of this show. Hope you can join us to kick of St. Patty’s Day weekend.
