[ROCK] Hailing from Vermont, Gang of Thieves, plays with the mantra that they’re “stealing back the spirit of rock n’ roll”, and I’ll be damned if that isn’t the case. Sure, they could have fit snugly in the 1990’s cannon with bands like Rage Against the Machine and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but that’s not to say their sound is dated. Their danceable, hook-heavy marriage of rock and funk taps into a wonderfully fresh sound. Soaring guitars, 1990s grunge-style vocals, and a rhythm that straddles the thrilling drive of rock and the open spaces of rowdy funk.
