[ELECTRONIC] Claude VonStroke’s house and techno music label, Dirtybird—based in San Francisco—has made its mark on Buffalo. Many of the members of Dirtybird’s birdhouse have swooped through Buffalo in recent years including J. Phlip, Worthy, and Justin Martin, and now it’s time for a couple more stop by. Will Clarke and Billy Kenny have teamed up for a tour that they’re calling Will & Bill’s Excellent Adventure Tour, which will come to Buffalo’s Lift Nightclub on Friday, March 11, presented by Factory Nightlife. Both of these British DJs have produced tracks for Dirtybird, though Clarke and Kenny have very distinct styles. Where Clarke focuses on a post-rave style of production, frequently sampling 1990s rave music in his future-house grooves, Kenny shoots for grimey, yet festival-ready house anthems that are influenced by his love of UK Garage and techno. Lift’s first show of the year should be a bass-heavy, dance-inducing affair.
