Tab Benoit

[BLUES] If you’re a blues fan then Tab Benoit is likely a very familiar name. As a contemporary bluesman, Benoit (pronounced ben-wah) is known to champion the swampy Delta style with his electric Stratocaster, sweetening the stew with soulful bits along the way. It’s this combination that’s set him apart from other electric blues contemporaries, along with his passion for his home state of Louisiana, which landed him work on the Katrina-focused IMAX documentary film, Hurricane on the Bayou. Benoit’s love of Louisiana is also the force behind his Voice of the Wetlands project, launched in 2003, which has been known to round up a band of musical Louisiana all-stars (including Dr. John and Cyril Neville) to raise awareness about the preservation of wetlands ecosystems. Benoit returns to Buffalo’s Tralf Music Hall on Tuesday, March 12. Although he hasn’t released anything new since 2016’s Medicine, this tour is dubbed the Whiskey Bayou Revue and features guests Eric Johanson & Jeff McCarty. Doors are at 7pm. This is a reserved seating show and tickets start at $34.
