George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic

[FUNK] Local Radio Station WBLK is celebrating Black History Month big this year with a show featuring George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic at the University at Buffalo Center for the Arts. WBLK, known for playing some of the latest R&B and hip hop has given Buffalo a treat. With a career spanning over 40 plus years, George Clinton altered the genre of funk forever with his seamless style of blending fresh elements of rock, pop and jazz. Spearheading the late 1960s and early 1970s with his infectious funky sound, Clinton and P-Funk hit the R&B top tens, and have been recognized with accolades by some of the world’s best music industries; from Motown to the Grammys, Clinton has stayed true to the all powerful funk. Influenced by artists like James Brown and Sly and the Family Stone, his sound has transcended all different eras and genres. With his resurgence in the 1990s thanks to rap and hip hop, Clinton has cemented his place in music history—being the forefather of acid funk. Known for their larger-than-life stage presence, and extravagant performances, this legendary funky collective is bound to make it a memorable night and take us on up to their supreme mothership.
