[ELECTRONIC/DANCE] Seattle electronic music producers ODESZA admit that when they formed in 2012, they didn’t really think about how they’d perform their robust, glo-fi dreamscapes in a live setting. “We just kinda started making it,” said producer Harrision Mills, referring to the music he makes as ODESZA withhis friend Clayton Knight. That year, the duo released Summer’s Gone, their neon-electro debut LP, and quickly figured out their live show, which combines live mixing, drum pads, and a lot of head bobbing to their chilwave-tinged downtempo beats. 2014 was a big year for the duo: After a transitionary EP in 2013, My Friends Never Die, they came back with their most focused and mature record yet, In Return, which is full of glitched-out vocals from talents like Zyra and Shy Girls, and hyper-polished pop beats. ODESZA will make their Western New York live debut at the Rapids Theatre on Wednesday, March 4 with trip-hop producer Little People and L.A. beatsmith, Big Wild.
