Robert Frost: A Lover's Quarrel With the World

The poet was 87 when the legendary underground filmmaker Shirley Clarke approached him to be the subject of a documentary. It wound up winning an Academy Award for Best Feature Documentary. Co-sponsored by UB’s Poetry Collection, which holds the Victor E. Reichert Robert Frost Collection, this recently restored 52-minute documentary offers viewers the opportunity to go beyond the two or three lines of Frost’s verse that has been carbon-copied onto American society and take a deeper look at one of the great lyric composers. This latest installment of Clarke’s films featured at Hallwalls will be the first glimpse for most into what happens when two great artists sliding through history join hands for a brief moment.
