[SCREENING] In 1968, after the Democratic National Convention, eight anti-war demonstrators were arrested and tried for conspiracy. They’re now known as the Chicago 8, but if you only know the story of “the eight,” then you don’t know the whole story. Through the use of vivid animation, voice-overs from celebrities like Hank Azaria, Nick Nolte, and Mark Ruffalo, and a rocking soundtrack featuring music by Rage Against the Machine, the Beastie Boys, and Black Sabbath, director Brett Morgen tells the story of the Chicago 10 in Chicago 10: Speak Your Peace. The movie will be screened this Wednesday, January 21 at Burning Books, presented by the Buffalo Committee against State Repression.
