Mission Improvable: Present Action

[DANCE] Mission Improvable returns with a new dance performance titled Present Action, on Friday, January 6 at Wasteland Studios. The centerpiece of the event will be a contact improv piece created on Thursday and Friday during Mission Improvable’s (Un)Doing Gender in Contact Improv workshop. Workshop participants and director Kristin Horrigan will help to co-create the piece which will be presented at Present Action. Contact Improv is a style of dance in which professional dancers and “non-dancers” dance together. Additional performances will be given by Lailye Weidman and Gala Gryphon, a.k.a. Chaos Agent 009. A “light sketch” will also be created by artists Carlie Todoro-Rickus and Cynthia Cadwell Pegado. The sketch will focus on “light as performer and partner to people and objects.” The event is sponsoredd by Pick of the Crop Dance, BCIJBP, Key Bank, Buffalo Contact Improv Community, and Midnight Liquors.
