Young Man Smokes First Cigarette In Band's Latest Music Video

by / Oct. 6, 2015 12pm EST

Fred Cimato, drummer of pop-rock band Loveysmoked his first cigarette in the music video for the band’s first video, “Maybe.” “Smoking is cool, and I wanted to look cool,” says 27-year-old Cimato. “I’ve been told it’s actually not cool and I don’t look cool, though,” he said in a later comment.

“The true story is that we had a bottle of Jack Daniels that we were drinking while we were filming the video, and the guy doing our video suggested one of us smokes in it. I was drunk, so I gladly accepted the roll. However, when we started filming, I smoked it way too fast and felt extremely nauseous for the rest of the night.”

Take that as a lesson kids: smoking may look cool but it’ll ruin your night.

Lovey will play their first show ever on October 30 as part of our Halloween edition of The Public Presents at Nietzsche’s. They’ll share the bill with The Naturalists—who will also be releasing their new album, Home Honey, I’m Hi—as well as The Soft Love, Johnny Nobody, and Handsome Jack. It should be a pretty fun time.
