This Week's Agenda from LOOP Magazine
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 16
Benefit for Craig Lehner at Club Marcella
4pm to 9pm, 439 Pearl St.
This is an all ages event staged in honor of Office Craig Lehner, one of our own, who died while doing a diving drill-exercise last month. A $20 donation gets you dinner and your first cocktail; there will also be a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction. All monies raised are allocated for the purchase of a new K-9 for the BPD in Officer Lehner’s honor. According to Police Lt. Jeff Rinaldo, the average police K-9 costs between $8,000-$11,000. Don’t forget, after the benefit it’s another Roxy’s Thursday party!
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 17
Transgender Day of Remembrance at Evergreen Commons
7pm to 8:30pm, 67 Prospect St.
Demonstrate respect and solidarity with Spectrum Transgender Support Group of WNY and the the Pride Center of WNY as we read the names of murdered brothers, sisters and extended family. “Join us as we resist hatred and speak for those who have been silenced.”
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 17
Fire Island Free Turkey Happy Hour at Expo Market
6pm to 11pm, 617 Main St.
Postponed from last month and slightly re-concepted, the Fire Island Friday monthly LBGTQ Happy Hour just keeps getting better. Start the night with drink specials and later, enjoy performances from your hosts Jayme Coxxx and Robotika 2Kay. DJ Deb keeps the party going throughout. A special, secret burlesque performer is to be announced, and all guests at the happy hour get FREE admission to Club Marcella’s “Life’s a Drag” Party starting at 11 PM. $20 GIANT Crystal Bowls make for 4 cocktails (hiccup) in one. It would also appear that a free turkey will get raffled.
