BuffaBLOG’s weekly local album reviews and event picks!

Jawbone – 2 (LP)
Recommended If You Like: Clues, The Faint, mewithoutyou

Members of Red Heat, the Etchings, and Beekeeper teamed up to release the rugged follow up to their 2014 contribution to Steak and Cake Records’ improv trilogy. The record’s lyrics were scavenged from old, unused poems written by keyboardist Elias Van Son.

Jack Topht – “bernie sanders terry p shit” (Song)
RIYL: MC Chris, Dr. Octagon, Adult Swim

The Allentown wordsmith once again joined forces with DJ TEENWOLF to drop the well timed #FeeltheBern collaboration prior to last week’s Democratic Convention. The Buffalo culture dropper references Café Taza, Tim Horton’s, and First Niagara on his latest witty, politically minded song.

Hawker M. James – “Here’s A Love Song” (Song)
RIYL: The Soundtrack of Our Lives, Guided By Voices

The long-time Rochester musician (and Demos’ drummer) shared the first single from his new, self-titled cassette late last week. Hawker M. James is currently available to pick up in Rochester area record shops and will hit the webs this January.
