Japanese Punk Band Comes to Buffalo to Premier New Video

by / Sep. 29, 2015 2pm EST

How does a popular band from Tokyo, Japan end up in Buffalo, in a studio on Delaware Avenue, to record their latest album? Robby Takac is the answer to that question. Takac runs the record label Good Charamel Records, and on his hunt for the perfect rock group, he has often turned to Japan for inspiration. His record label is now populated by handful of Japanese rock and pop acts including the high energy punk duo Pinky Doodle Poodle. The duo—guitarist George and bassist/vocalist Yuria (who some might know for her voice work on the Japanese cult-classic anime video game Shuffle!)—has spent the last few weeks in Takac’s GCR studio perfecting their latest album. The album will be their third for Good Charamel and was produced with the help of a few local musicians including drummers Josh English, Mikey Lasaponara, and Josh Heatley.

While in Buffalo the band performed at the Music is Art Festival and are now preparing for their departure on a 10 city US tour with a show at Mohawk Place on October 21 supported by over-the-top Buffalo rock band, Super Killer Robots. In celebration of their newest full length release, Inside Out, Pinky Doodle Poodle present the world premier of their latest music video “Kick Out The Jams,” exclusively for The Public.
