Buffalo-based Indie punk band M.A.G.S. released their debut, self-titled record earlier this month. The nine track record is full of noisy, stripped back punk and gusty, dreamy indie rock, glued together by acerbic wall-of-sound guitars.

Aside from the cutting guitar chords and backbone of the record is almost mechanical clockwork drumming that lays the foundation for singer Elliott Douglas’ (pictured on album cover artwork) moony reverberated vocals, which are mixed in finely.

Highlights include the dance-punk album opener “Real Talk,” surfy garage rock track “My Love,” the doped up rager “mvp” and singles “Demons” and “Drugs” both of which lean toward the indie rock side with dreamy guitar melodies and lighter vocals.
