FootGolf Course to Open at Delaware Park

by / May. 15, 2015 1pm EST

If you haven’t quite fixed that slice yet, you might be able to just throw those golf clubs out the window, because you won’t need them to golf in Buffalo this summer. According to the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservatory website, construction has begun at Delaware Park on a FootGolf course.

As you’ve probably guessed, FootGolf is a combination of soccer and golf where players attempt to sink a soccer ball into an oversized hole on a shorter golf course-like course. And yes, this is a real sport—made official by the American FootGolf League in 2011. The Delaware Park course opens on Saturday, May 16, when there will be a free FootGolf Clinic held at 10am. For more info on FootGolf, including the rules, watch the video below.

Delaware Park FootGolf hours (starting 5/16/15) are 1pm-9pm Monday, 8:30am-9pm Tuesday-Friday, closed Thursdays, and 1pm-9pm Saturday and Sunday.

Weekday day rates for city residents are $16 for 18 holes or $13 for 9 holes.
