Artists Seen: Peter Sowiski

Peter Sowiski is a visual artist and educator based in Buffalo. He received a BA in Studio Art from Oberlin College, and an MFA in Printmaking from Ohio State University. He has become primarily known as a pulp painter, with work in numerous public and private collections in America. Since the early 1970s, he has shown in over 180 regional, national, and international group and solo exhibitions. Over the last 35 years he has held over eighty workshop, lecture, and visiting artist posts locally and internationally. Sowiski is an Emeritus Professor of Fine Arts at Buffalo State College, where he taught from 1974- 2007. He has worked at Abaca Press since its inception.
