GreenCode Public Comments
Starting tonight the City of Buffalo will hold two special meetings and host an open written comment period on the GreenCode until April 22, 2016. This is the notification from the City of Buffalo:
Green Code Public Hearings
Please plan on attending one of the upcoming public hearings for the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DGEIS), which analyzes the environmental impacts of the Buffalo Green Code, including all of the Green Code component documents.
First Public Hearing
Tuesday, March 15th, 2016 at 5:30 pm

Besides making comments at either of the two DGEIS public hearings, comments may be submitted in writing to Dinash Lal, Common Council Chief of Staff, Common Council Central Office, 1413 City Hall, Buffalo, NY 14202, or by email to
dlal@city-buffalo.com. Comments must be submitted by April 22, 2015, when the public comment period under the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) closes.
In addition to the DGEIS public hearings, a subsequent public hearing will be held for the Unified Development Ordinance and public hearings/meetings will be held for the other Green Code components as required. Dates will be scheduled for these meetings after the close of the SEQRA public comment period. Once the dates are scheduled, the Mayor’s Office of Strategic Planning will work with Council staff to provide notice of those meetings.
The Niagara River Greenway Commission and the Niagara River Corridor Ramsar Site Steering Committee invite you to a public presentation: Celebrate World Water Day and the Niagara River & learn more about the proposal to nominate the Niagara River as North America’s first Transboundary Ramsar Site.

The event is free and open to the public. It will be held on Tuesday, March 22, from 7-8:30 PM at the Atrium @ Rich’s (Niagara and West Ferry in Buffalo).

Nominating the Niagara River Corridor as a Ramsar Site, a wetland of international importance, will help celebrate the river’s return to health. It will support conservation while encouraging recreation and tourism, and will help attract funding resources to our region. Pursued in partnership with our Canadian neighbors, this will be the first Transboundary Ramsar Site in North America. Maple Weekends New York
It is that time of year again when the Maple Producers Association of New York hosts it’s annual Maple Weekends during the weekends of March 19-20, and April 2-3, open houses, tours of operating sugar shacks, and pancake breakfasts featuring delicous maple products will happen all over Western New York. Get out and enjoy.
Buffalo Audubon Maple Harvest Festival
Come on out the the Beaver Meadow Audubon Center’s annual event featuring sugar shack demonstrations and a pancake breakfast. The events occur Saturday March 19 and Sunday March 20 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Adults $8.00, Children ages 4-12 $6.00. 3 and under, free.
