Artists Seen: Andrea Mancuso

Andrea Mancuso is a media and installation artist, educator, and arts administrator. A Buffalo native, she received a BA from SUNY Buffalo in 1989 and an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1993. She and her collaborator Peter D’Auria have worked together as the duo “virocode” since the 1980s, creating video- and photography-based projects exploring the intersection of art and science that have been presented throughout the US and Europe. Mancuso has taught in the art department at Nichols School since 1999. For more information on her work, visit virocode.com.


Artists Seen: Photographs of Artists in the 21st Century is an ongoing project by photographer David Moog in partnership with the Burchfield Penney Art Center at SUNY Buffalo State. Moog has set out to make portraits of every self-identified working artist and arts professional in Western New York.
