Death Cult Commits Mass Murder
I don’t really have a hot take for you in response to the news of yet another terrorist mass murder in western Europe. These attacks are horrific for their randomness, their senselessness, and their carnage. It doesn’t matter if it’s a pressure cooker bomb in Boston, a truck in Nice, an AK-47 in Paris, or a bomb in Istanbul or Baghdad — terrorism is not a new phenomenon, and hysteria is not a reasonable reaction to it.
Paladino Harasses GOP Delegate
“Carl being Carl” means threatening Republican delegates. The Hill reports that Carl Paladino casually calls for the hanging of people with whom he disagrees, and throws the word “treason” around a lot.
Josh Groban with Sarah McLachlan
[POP] Josh Groban and Sarah McLachlan both possess the tender vocal qualities to render listeners inconsolable. Josh Groban rose to fame on the strength of his operatic vocal talents, which have garnered his following of faithful Grobanites.
Disturbed with Breaking Benjamin
[METAL] Disturbed is one of the most popular and profitable metal bands of all time. Their melodic delivery made them accessible, and though some criticized them for it, their formula worked, and their longevity and consistent sales are proof. Their success continues with their sixth album, Immortalized, which comes after a five-year hiatus.
Jim Breuer
[COMEDY] It’s arguably impossible to discuss comedian Jim Breuer without first addressing the elephant in the room—his resting stoned face. Although the “Breuer Face” helped him land a role in the cult classic film, Half Baked, it couldn’t be less applicable to this hyper dad. Breuer’s comedic brilliance is rooted in his spastically animated delivery and hinges on his brilliant quips and impersonation prowess.
The Arcs
[ROCK] The Dan Auerbach saga continues with The Arcs. The Black Keys frontman recruited Menahan Street Band member Homer Steinweiss, Amy Winehouse collaborator Nick Movshon, Black Keys touring bassist Richard Swift, Leon Michels and guitarist Kenny Vaughan for the collaborative 2015 album, Yours, Dreamily.\ The easy-going, soul-inspired LP vibes like longtime pals jamming ego-free in their basement.

Spotlight: Billy Club
Most regulars of the bars on the west side of Allentown know there’s a certain look that more than a few of these establishments share. The dark wood and black surfaces; the intense dimness, sometimes cut only by gloomy red lighting; the more-is-more decor aesthetic, with adornments that run from gaudy to outright weird. If this is the status quo of bars on west Allen Street, then the new kid on the block, the Billy Club, is the odd man out. But it’s a role that owners Dan Hagen and Jake Strawser happily embrace.
