The Black Dahlia Murder with Goatwhore

[METAL] Nearly 20 years on, New Orleans’ Goatwhore seems more relevant than ever. True, this is some serious metal, the kind where lyrics are barked (rather than sung) by a dude who sounds like his uvula was tied to a truck and dragged down Main Street at the end of a white-out winter. But the musicianly chops are undeniable and, interestingly, the band has taken its longstanding occult focus and turned it toward an uncertain world future on its last two discs. The message is clear: Armageddon is coming.

Christmas by Candlelight

Combat Xenophobia: An Interfaith Rally for Solidarity

[RALLY] Muslims, Christians, people of all faiths, or no faith at all, will stand shoulder to shoulder at the Solidarity Rally at 3pm this Thursday, December 17 in Niagara Square to publicly display their disapproval of the rampant fear and hate mongering that has been spewed by national figures. The rally is sponsored by the Muslim Public Affairs Council of WNY and co-sponsored by several other non-profits and community organizations, such as the WNY Peace Center, Congregation Havurah, Catholic Diocese

GoBike Solstice Soiree

[BIKE] For some bikers it’s always biking season, but with this unseasonably warm weather, we can all feel good taking our bikes for a ride. On Wednesday, December 16, Gobike Buffalo will hold a special Solstice Soiree at 1526 Main Street for the city’s biking community. There’ll be dinner, bike-themed triva, and even awards like “cyclist of the year.” Tickets are $25 or $20 for Gobike members.

The techno producer has released music on labels that span the world, from the German label Dolly, run by techno duchess Steffi; the Japenese record label, Mule; the British label NonPlus, run by producer Boddika; the Chicago house music label Still Music; to most recently the Dutch label Dekmantel, through which Li released his latest full length album, Under the Same Sky a few weeks ago.
