Infringement Festival: Accepting Applications Now
The proposal season for Buffalo’s annual Infringement festival is officially open. Infringement Festival, which is entering its 12th year, will be accepting applications from now until May 1. If you properly submit an application, you will be accepted—because that’s what Infringement Festival is all about. Nobody is denied or rejected. Last year 400 artists performed at 94 (!) different venues (some were well known establishments such as Nietzsche’s and some were pop up locations like Days Park).

Erie County Health Commissioner Gale Burstein said the other day that lead poisoning is the biggest health risk facing young children in the city. She’s been saying for some time that her department could use help in dealing with the problem, which data suggests might be getting worse in Buffalo’s inner-city.
Mayor Byron Brown responded last week by saying she should not count on City Hall for any additional help. He effectively said, “It’s not our job.”
