Art+Feminism's Wikipedia Edit-a-thon

[ART & JOURNALISM] A 2011 survey reveled that less than 10 percent of Wikipedia contributors identify as female. Imagine how that might subtly (or not-so-subtly) skew the online compendium’s coverage of, for example, women in arts and literature? As part of an effort to address that imbalance, Squeaky Wheel hosts the Art+Femininism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon this Saturday, March 11, 2-7pm. The events includes tutorials for the nascent Wikipedian, as well as access to ongoing support and resource materials. Since 2014, more than 280 Art+Feminism edit-a-thons have taken place across the world, creating and improving an estimated 4,600 articles.  People of all gender identities and expressions are invited to participate, particularly transgender and cisgender women.
