Live at Larkin: Buffalo '66: Cash & Stones Revisited

[TRIBUTE] A couple of local bands will revisit the tunes of some legendary artists for the next Live at Larkin event. Stoneflower and A Band Named Sue will play some select cuts by the influential Johnny Cash and the immortal Rolling Stones. “50 years ago, in the last week of June 1966, a hip-enough Buffalonian could’ve seen both Johnny Cash & The Rolling Stones within two days of each other,” says Seamus Gallivan who helped book the show. That week, back in 1966, the Stones played the Aud whle Johnny Cash played six nights at Melody Fair.  “I found the Buffalo News review of the Stones including the setlist, and booked Stoneflower to recreate it.” A Band Named Sue have been set to the task of recreating a Tennessee Three-era Johnny Cash set list with the help of Kate Panfil-Clark, Zak Ward, and Philip Farugia of Musicalfare Theatre’s production or Ring of Fire. It all takes play at Larkin Square on Wednesday, June 29 for Buffalo ‘66: Cash & Stones Revisited.
