A peaceable throng, dressed in their City Honors cardinal and gray, rallied for their beloved coach, Deborah Matos, on the steps of City Hall on Tuesday July 21. The rally of dozens of current school athletes, as well as alumnae, was meant as a strong visual for the Board of Education, called to a special session that afternoon to discuss whether the coach could keep her job.

[ART] A Buffalo native, currently living in the Hudson Valley, Maude White is gracing us with her intrinsic paper cut outs that will keep you wondering the whole night. With the stark contrast of the white on black, these seemingly three-dimensional works will pop out at you. This show is also opening in conjunction with an exhibit with new work by Allan Hebeler, whose mix use of painting, pastel and photography will captivate you until you are ushered out.
Infringement Barging into the Burch III
[INFRINGEMENT] In its 11th year, the Infringement Festival is launching this coming Thursday in the Front Yard of the Burchfield Penney with a series of performance acts that will get you in the mood to later—at 7:30pm—parade down Elmwood, all the way to Allentown. This two-week festival, which isspread out around the city in venues and on the street, will keep you quite occupied with its wide spread programming.
Old Crow Medicine Show
[FOLK] Not just any musicians get inducted into the Grand Ole Opry. Old Crow Medicine Show, the Nashville, Tennessee string band, were graced with that honor in 2013, and celebrated by putting out a Grammy Award Winning record, Remedy, just a few months later. The old-timey folk group comes to the Town Ballroom for a special performance on Sunday, July 26.
Tribute to Ted Reinhardt
[BENEFIT] On Sunday, July 26, the Tralf Music Hall will host a musical tribute to Buffalo Music Hall of Famer, Ted Reinhardt. The legendary drummer, who was known for his work with bands such as Spyro Gyra and Gamalon, passed away in March in a tragic plane crash. Proceeds with benefit Ted’s family.
