Paladino Proposes Destruction of Downtown Landmark
Unless plans are averted, Carl Paladino’s proposal to construct a parking ramp and hotel, offices, and apartments at Franklin and West Tupper streets will come with a heavy price. Ellicott Development has submitted plans to the city to raze the Bachelor, 329 Franklin Street, a little-known but historically important apartment house built in 1886.

Queen City Roller Girls Season Opener
[ROLLER DERBY] Opening day for the Queen City Roller Girls, the Western New York-based roller derby league, is this Saturday, January 9 at their home base, Buffalo RiverWorks. The season will kick off with a match between the Devil Dollies and the Suicidal Saucies. Buffalo RiverWorks was, among other purposes, designed and built to house the Queen City Roller Girls, and this Saturday marks the beginning of their second season there.
Buffalo Bitter Winter Clothing Drive
[HELPING] The non-profit community organization Buffalo’s Good Neighbors is partnering with Friends Feeding Friends to help clothe the cold this winter. Each Sunday the organizations hang clothing items such as sweaters, hats, gloves, and socks between trees in Fireman’s Park, downtown, for those who need it.
