Last Chance to Enter Buffalo's Funniest Contest
There are a lot of funny people in Buffalo. And we’re not talking about just funny looking, we’re talking about legitimately laugh out loud funny people. Maybe you’re one of these fine specimens. Maybe you know one. The only way to find out for sure whether you are or are not one of Buffalo’s funniest people is to enter Helium Comedy Club’s Buffalo’s Funniest contest.

Coffee Cult(ure)
[COFFEE] If you’re like me, then coffee is necessary to fuel your life. The people behind Coffee Cult(ure) agree, and that’s why they’ve organized this one of a kind event. Essentially a networking event and coffee sampling, Coffee Cult(ure) will bring together local roasters and cafes including Tipico, Caffeology, Ashker’s, Biscotti for Everybotti, Kornerstone Coffee, Plume Coffee, Public Espresso, and Lockhouse Distillery for this free event this Friday, April 29 at Ashker’s Main Street (1526 Main Street).
Ben Gold with Protoculture
[ELECTRONIC/DANCE] Considered one of the most talented trance music producers in the game right now, Ben Gold comes to Lift Nightclub on Saturday, April 30. Gold boasts a bunch of Beatport #1 tracks including maybe his best known, “I’m In a State of Trance.” Gold will be joined by South African prog-trance producer Protoculture.
Fox Sisters
[INDIE] Buffalo’s in for a treat with this visit from Rochester garage-r’n’b outfit Fox Sisters, a seven piece ball of musical energy complete with horns, piano, and a heavy influence from Mitch Ryder. What else can you say about a band with the following line in its bio: “All Fox Sisters numbers are purposefully designed to produce compelling sensation in the ass of the listener”? Perhaps just “show up and be ready to move.” Joining in the shenanigans are the similarly-minded Televisionaries and Temptators, also from Rochester.
Record Baron Vinyl Convention
[VINYL] Long before there was Vinyl Mania, there was the Record Baron and his stand-alone shop on Delaware Avenue in Kenmore, which is a mainstay for Buffalo-area vinyl collectors. Twice annually, the Baron helps organize these Sunday afternoon vinyl conventions held at the Leonard Post, which is located on Walden Avenue right by the Galleria (exit 52E).
Reverend Horton Heat
[PUNK] The “Reverend” Jim Heath makes his way through Buffalo once a year or so, leading his cow-punk trio with equal parts earnest vigor and tongue-in-cheek amusement.
