[ROCK] Lansing, Michigan trio Cheap Girls has made a point of playing regularly here in WNY and it’s paid off: our local music scene knows who they are. As a post-punk power trio of sorts, the band cobbles their sound from earnest rock-and-roll drive: there’s not a lot of fluff and filler on their albums, which now number four. While still out supporting their most recent, Famous Graves, those just arriving at the Cheap Girls party definitely want to check out the Laura Jane Grace-produced Giant Orange, which dropped in 2012. Cheap Girls—comprised of three dudes, by the way—return to the Studio at The Waiting Room on Friday, December 18.
