[SKATE PARTY] If the results of the election have you wondering how you can be more involved in local matters, may we suggest a late-night rollerskating party? Another iteration of the Well Rounded People’s Party, which is not so much a political party as it is a late-night dance party on skates, is returning the day after Thanksgiving, this Friday from 10pm to 1am, at the venerable Skateland, a venue perched on Buffalo’s dividing line at Main and Ferry streets. From the beginning the WRPP has endeavored to bridge Buffalo’s historical divisions and fuel the work of the WASH Project, a West Side arts programming organization that was sought in-roads into that community’s refugee and immigrant population. It’s the perfect thing to do if you’re in town or hosting old friends for the weekend and are in search of evidence of the new Buffalo, in its youthful and DIY form, in an old Buffalo venue. Dance, hip hop, and R & B cuts will be provided by DJs Sike, Cove, and Trev Thorne.
