Poetry From the Banned Seven

[POETRY] You can erect walls, concrete and figurative, to keep people apart, but you can’t stop poetry. That’s why our pals at Rust Belt Books are hosting a weekend to showcase and celebrate poetry that originates in the seven countries affected by the Trump administration’s original travel ban: Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen. On Friday, April 14 and Saturday, April 15, 12-7pm, the Grant Street book shop invites local poets with roots in those countries to share their work; others will read work by poets from those countries. There will be poems on display, as well, with copies for patrons to take home. On Saturday, 3-7pm, there will be an informal reception.
