[JAM] Yarn’s central songwriter Blake Christiana might hail from Schenectady, but his six-piece string-band was formed off the streets of Brooklyn. Curiously, Yarn’s sound doesn’t seem to come from anywhere in particular, although a nod to Nashville comes through the band’s most recent, all-acoustic set, 2013’s Shine the Light On. Christiana and co. make music for the jam-band crew with a penchant for introspective thought and melancholic melody, and it’s earned them nods from the Grammys and AMAs as well as appearances on CNN, CMT, and a spot as “Download of the Day” at Rollingstone.com. Catch them gearing up for festival season at Sportsmen’s Tavern on Saturday, March 14.
