[ACTIVISM] Author, activist, and historian Walidah Imarisha’s book Angels With Dirty Faces: Three Stories of Crime, Prison, and Redemption (AK Press, 2017) takes a hard look at life in America’s prison system through three interconnected narratives, one of them her own. Imarisha, who is also a co-editor of the much celebrated anthology Octavia’s Brood: Science Fiction Stories from Social Justice Movements, comes to Burning Books on Thursday, March 1, to talk about the book and her work as an activist, journalist, and poet.
