[HIP HOP] “Give it up… for Naughty By Nature!” The Platinum-album selling trio from New Jersey known as Naughty by Nature will be at the Waiting Room this Wednesday, February 24. Buffalo has the privilege of hosting this hip-hop group, as they embark on their 25th Anniversary Tour. These three musical geniuses released their self-titled debut album in 1991, and instantly became the face of hip-hop. Their single “O.P.P.” climbed the charts quickly, and is known as one of the greatest hip-hop songs to date. Their sound, beats, and flow would transform the hip-hop universe, making them musical legends. After their debut album success, Naughty by Nature would go on to create a few more follow-up albums, including 19 Naughty III, Poverty’s Paradise, and Nineteen Naughty Nine: Nature’s Fury. Labeled as “Three Kings of Hip-Hop,” the trio put a stamp on not only hip-hop, but music as a whole. Their gritty and lyrical sound established a new era of hip-hop, and kept generations believing in what real hip-hop sounds like. Now, after 25 years of success, members Treach, Vin Rock and DJ Kay Gee are back making legendary hip-hop music. Short Moscato, Lucky Seven, and Truey V open the show.
