Silo City Alive II

[AMERICANA] If the grain silos are a fascination of yours – and you’re not alone in your curiosity — Silo City Alive presents an opportunity to check them out much more closely while taking in an afternoon of music and art. Musically, the event has an Americana slant (and is presented by the Sportsmen’s Americana Music Foundation), featuring the neo-twang of Steam Donkeys, Folkfaces, First Ward, Leroy Townes Band, The Rust Belt Birds, Dee Adams, Uncle Ben’s Remedy, Mom Said No, CPX,  and Ten Cent Howl. Apparently, the chamber-effect of the silos makes for some awesome amplification, particularly for the acoustic string-fare that’s planned. The silo interior walls will also serve as an art gallery, and there’ll be professional dance performances vying for your attention from Buffalo Aerial Dance and Center. Don’t worry about bringing food: Gourmet Grub, Cruisin’ Crepes, Melody’s Sweet and Buffalo’s Best Grill will all have trucks on hand (in addition to a brewery presence) as well as kayaks and floating tiki bars. Plus, GoBike will valet park your cycle should you choose to ride down. What’s not to love? Satiate your grain silo fascination while taking in delicious food, drink, art and music—this is Buffalo at its quirky best on Sunday, July 1 from 2pm to 8pm along Silo City Row (Ohio Street). It’s $10 to get in, free for tykes under 12. Bring a chair if you can.
