The David Dance
[SCREENING] A week after the successful screening of Buffalo 66, the North Park presents the local premiere of another film by a native son who left for the life in New York City 20 years ago. Don Scime stars in The David Dance, adapted from his play about a late-night DJ who only comes alive when he’s on the air. When his sister asks for his help in adopting a child from Brazil, the scene is set for both of them to confront issues from their past that have produced the self-doubts that are impeding their futures. The David Dance was shot entirely in Buffalo, Clarence, and Williamsville, and in a year of festival screenings has picked up several awards for Best Narrative Feature. Scime will be present to introduce the film and answer questions after the screening on Thursday, April 9.
