When an outsider thinks of the average Buffalonian diet they probably think of chicken wings, pizza, and the occasional fish fry. Well, They’re absolutely right, but that’s not all we eat. Recently, Buffalo has found its way to the forefront of delicious, fresh, local food. The Buffalo Foodie started her page to prove to the world that we are so much more than just our hometown specialties. She has always had an interest in food and photography. When she found the perfect medium to share her work she was inspired to start her own page. “I had photos on my phone of mouth watering dishes and no one to share them with. This gave me the opportunity to help promote local Buffalo restaurants and also the Buffalonians looking for new places to try,” she says.

The Buffalo Foodie has an eclectic eye for food. Whether it’s giant raviolis or decadent tacos, she’ll eat whatever she can get her hands on. She’s always down to talk taco as long as you’re talking about Cantina Loco. “I am a very frequent flyer at the Mexican hot spot on Allen. The Koreatown taco leaves me speechless every time. It’s always consistent and prepared to perfection,” she says. Now back to those giant raviolis she mentioned (as if a ravioli could possibly get any better), Left Bank snags up a spot in her heart for this larger than life Italian treat; although, it’s not just the ravioli that brings her into this local spot. The vibe always amazes her when she visits Left Bank. “The atmosphere makes for a perfect meal. The dim lighting, tunes, and staff are comforting and inviting. I’ve never had a bad meal or experience at this restaurant,” she says.

While she loves branching out from the typical Buffalonian regimen, she can never seem to get too far away from her first love—pizza. For Buffalo Foodie, pizza is the sixth, and most important food group. Finding a delicious slice in Buffalo is never hard, but choosing between which slices she’ll enjoy that day is the exact opposite. When she is craving a conventional Buffalo style pizza she enjoys the pie at Bocce’s Pizza Club; however, when she craves something a little more old-school Italian, she prefers Rocco’s Wood Fired Pizza. “Pizza makes the world go round,” she says. The Buffalo Foodie is a savory food addict. On occasion this foodie will post up her favorite desserts, but for the most part her page is flooded with salty, cheesy, savory dishes and snacks. “A favorite savory, guilty indulgence of mine is Creekview’s poutine. What could possibly be better than French fries smothered in gravy and cheese? Nothing,” she says.
