WOMEN’S GIFTS

This one is a little different than the other markets because it’s specifically gear toward women and focuses on women artists. And it’s been around a long time. 20 years to be exact. “We encourage you to spend your precious and hard earned holiday dollars on women who live and create here in Western New York,” says a press release for the event. Expect Jewelry, pottery, fabrics, glass, body care, ceramics, knitted and crocheted items, printed items, food and drink, card, notebooks, home decor, wood, intuitive readings, photography, and more.

QUEEN CITY MARKET
Saturday, December 3, 11am-5pm
Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum Porter Hall,
453 Porter Ave, Buffalo

This annual market has become one of the biggest pop up markets in the city and the go-to market for lovers of locally produced arts and crafts. The list of items that’ll be for sale is too long to print here, but just know that it ranges from jewelry made from skateboard parts, homemade cake pops, visual art of all kinds, to vintage barware. If you’re not already in the holiday spirit, the event which takes place in the beautiful Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum Porter Hall will instantly transport you there with a friendly community of sellers and buyers sipping warm drinks and browsing through items from the more than 50 vendors and artists. It’s also possible that you’ll get your entire season’s worth of holiday shopping done here, so don’t miss it. This will also be a chance to donate your non-perishable food items to donate to the Food Bank of WNY.

PEACE, LOVE, AND GRANT STREET
Thursday, December 1, 4pm-8pm
Grant Street, Buffalo

This market doesn’t take place in one building, but down an entire street. A slew of stores, restaurants and pop-up shops will be participating in the block-party type event which will also feature live outdoor music, holiday arts and crafts, food trucks, and an appearance from Santa. There’ll also be a special trolley available to transport shoppers from one end of Grant Street to the other. Look for an after party at the Gypsy Parlor.

BUFFALO ARTISTS MARKET
Wednesday, December 7, 4:30-9pm
Ellicott Square Building, 95 Main St, Buffalo

If for some reason you miss the Queen City Market, the Buffalo Artists Market is a good runner up. This one is also in an impressive building, Downtown Buffalo’s Ellicott Square Building—which will host a towering Christmas tree smack dab in the middle of the vendor market. There’s also a cash bar here, as well as food trucks, so you could make a whole happy hour of it after work on Wednesday, December 7.
