Brunch, it’s not just for ladies anymore. This meal has become the focal point of everyone’s weekend. It is the scrumptious filler-upper before the big game, and the best cure for last night’s mistakes; but the brunch you see served today isn’t the same as the brunch served years ago. Enter Buffalo Brunch Club. For Adrianne Salmon, brunch is the most relaxing part of any weekend. “To me, brunch is a time when you can sit back, let go of your worries, and start your day on the right foot—with some tasty elixirs and comfort food,” she says.

For Adrianne, brunch comes in many forms. “You can be traditional with a spicy Bloody Mary and pancakes, fancy with a French 75 and lobster Benedict, or nonconformist with a beer and a plate of ribs,” she says. Of course, like many brunchers before her, there is one ingredient that will always reign supreme: eggs (#putaneggonit). Sunny side up, scrambled, or fried; you can’t go wrong. However, she has ventured off the “beaten” path and discovered some of her favorite dishes, sans yolk. One of her favorite brunch spots, Martin Cooks, is known to only have a few dishes including eggs, which she has grown to love just like every other brunch plate that has been put in front of her. Like she’s said before, “Nobody is at a brunch table to judge.” You can be anything you want.

Adrianne is also known to use some of her favorite local ingredients to make her own brunch at home, just in case the hair-of-the-dog has kept her bed-ridden on a Sunday. That is until she discovered that another one of her favorite local joints has a cocktail just for this ailment. Buffalo Proper offers up “The Hair of the Dog” cocktail, which mixes up gin, carrot-orange shrub, ginger-jalapeno cordial, sparkling wine, egg white, and cayenne. It’ll clear you out and wake you up. While Adrianne enjoys any brunch paired with her BFF, Bloody Mary, she has also discovered an entirely new menu filled with invigorating brunch cocktails. Beer-mosas? Yes please!

Adrianne is in-the-know when it comes to big-time brunch events (like Black Sheep’s well waited return of their brunch menu, or Hydraulic Hearth’s “Gospel Brunch” where Chef Steve Gedra showed off some of his southern cooking skills.) For locals who love a hearty weekend meal and a good cocktail check the Buffalo Brunch Club Instagram page for anything and everything to do with brunch.
