 FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 1

The Birthday Party at Pine Apple Company
6pm — 10pm, 224 Allen St.

Join the Pine Apple Company in the gallery and backyard as they celebrate their first year anniversary. New original works and fan favorites will be on display as part of First Friday, in addition to face painting by Thomas Holt from 6-7, an open photo booth from 7-10, a special screening of a new short film by Mike West at 8:30, and an ongoing cash bar with beer, wine, and cider offerings run by Community Beer Works. Put on your party hats and blow your noisemakers, the Pine Apple crew is celebrating the year one!

 SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 2

Silver Pride Bike Ride
9:30am, Fisk and Feigie Roads, near Erie Canalway Trail Access point, Pendleton.

Feel like you might enjoy some fresh air? This is an informal ride for LGBTQ seniors and allies taking place outside of the city, meeting at the above mentioned point and then following the canalway to Lockport. This event is being organized by Jean Hopkins through the Silver Pride Networking Group.

 SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 2

Fall Clothing Giveaway at No Labels Co-op
3pm — 8pm, 224 Allen St.

Feel free to pass out in the bushes after the Pine Apple bash and awaken just in time to go next door the following afternoon and snag some free goodies from the No Labels Cooperative’s collection. No Labels has a surplus of clothing and is giving it away to make some interior space: performance a/o costuming pieces, coats, shoes, etc. There’ll be some snacks and drinks (feel free to bring more), but they don’t need any additional clothes.

 SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 3

Buffalo Brunch Bash at Buffalo Iron Works
11am — 2pm, 49 Illinois St.

Not to be confused with the ongoing activities of embraceWNY, the First Annual Buffalo Brunch Bash is a fundraiser to support clean air, which impacts all of our lives. Sponsored by Buffalo Iron Works and Mix96, tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the Door. Each one includes delicious all-you-can-eat brunch food from the area’s best restaurants (vegan options available), frothy libations from Great Lakes Brewing Company, which will provide its Steady Rollin’ Session IPA & Lightkeeper Blonde Ale free to all attendees, additional drink specials and cocktail menu by Lockhouse Distillery & Bar, live music from local jazz-funk quartet GRAVY and an auction. Sponsors are welcome and information is available at cacwny.org. All proceeds will benefit Clean Air: Organizing for Health and Justice, an environmental justice and public health organization.
