 Ellicottville Brewing Company

Things are happening at Ellicottville Brewing Company. Ellicottville Brewing on Chautauqua, located in Bemus Point on Chautauqua Lake (57 Lakeside Drive), has opened. They are open for lunch and dinner during warm weather months, offering their own brews, which are being created on-site. They’ve also released Just Peachy, a fruit beer brewed with sweet peaches and black tea, and teamed with Ontario’s Muskoka Brewery on a new collaborative beer, Cross Border Citrus Porter. “I love dark chocolate, coffee, citrus, and beer, so I’m pretty pumped to be able to accent all the things I love,” EBC head brewer Dan Minner said. Look for Cross Border Citrus Porter soon.

 New York Beer Project

New York Beer Project has created a new space for patrons and beer lovers alike to soak in the sun and spend their summer, a new German beergarden/Caribbean tiki bar. There are hanging German malt sacks, Caribbean palm trees, and baby hop plants growing on bines, and in addition to NYBP’s beer, there are new cocktails, including the Bavarian Pina Colada, Beergarden Mojito, and Bahama German Mama. There’s karaoke on Mondays, cornhole tournaments on Tuesdays, and live music on Clammin’ and Jammin’ Thursdays, 7-10:30pm. We’ll see you all out in the beergarden, or bellying up to the tiki bar, or both.

 Spirit of Buffalo Kolsch

And speaking of summer, Pearl Street Brewing has released the Spirit of Buffalo Kolsch (5.4%) to celebrate the season, a collaboration between Pearl Street and Spirit of Buffalo boat tours. Brewed with Saaz, Tettnang, Hallertau, and Wakatu, the Spirit of Buffalo Kolsch is light and easy drinking, yet hoppy with a little bit of lime character. “Spirit of Buffalo Kolsch is light bodied, easy drinking, and unbelievably refreshing on the water on a hot day,” PSG head brewer Chris Herr says. “Try one on the boat.” It will be served at Pearl Street as well as on Spirit of Buffalo boat tours this summer.
