Artists Seen: Patti Ambrogi

by / Jan. 10, 2017 11pm EST

Patti Ambrogi is a photographer and an associate professor in the School of Photographic Arts and Sciences at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). She holds an MFA from the Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. It often looks beneath the surface of official stories and received histories, and toward the discovery of the social, economic, and political processes that shape the roles and relationships of women, power, art, and media. She says, “I think of my process as…a liberatory project, a project about unmooring and looking seriously at our world with a visual playfulness.” For more information, visit pattiambrogiphotography.com or burchfieldpenney.org.
